(5 stars) The giver is an amazing, touching story by Lois Lowery. It is about a boy living in a bland society. There are no feelings, no color, mostly just rules. It isn't until Jonas begins training to be the new reciver that he see this. The giver gives him memories and wisdom of color, snow, hills and love. He takes a little baby boy and escapes, leaving the city with his memories. I recommend this for middle school students and for people who don't mind thinking. If you see the movie for this please comment to tell me about it. How could it ever compete with Lois? Did it include the other books in this film too?

(5 stars) "The answer the life, the universe and everything is... 42." The Hitchhkier's Guide To the Galaxy) is a hilarious, (kind of) random book by Douglas Adams. Ford (having been stuck on Earth for fifteen years) takes Aurthur off the Earth when the Vorgons destroy it. They hitchhike from spaceship to spaceship finally getting settled on a ship stolen by Zophod Beeblebrox, former president of the universe, old friend of Ford. There is also Marvin the depressed robot. Somewhere else in space scientists are trying to figure out the answer to everything with a super computer, that is only the 2nd best in the world. Read this books and I promise you'll be laughing (a lot!). This is a crazy adventure that only people who have a sense of humor and a lot of time for nonsense. I recommend this book for middle schoolers and up. (4 stars) (by Neil Gaiman) When the boy's parents get murdered and he (just barely) escapes, Nobody is taken in... by ghosts. He is raised in a graveyard by ghosts (lovely ones really). But what things happen when he goes out into the real world. And will he someday have to leave the graveyard? This is an amazing book! A little creepy but very well written.I could really feel his loneliness and sometimes sadness or happiness. I recommend this for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. *****(5 stars) John Grisham wrote an amazing series: Theodore Boone. Theo is a 13 year old boy. His mom is a divorce lawyer and his dad a real estate lawyer. He loves court. He knows most of the cops, half the lawyers and every rule known to court. He helps solve mysteries (even though he's not always really suppose to). There are four books in this series:*****
I recommend this for people who like mysteries, court and lots of twists!
****- (4 stars) This is by grace Cavendish. The time period is Queen Elizabeth I in England. The girl is Maid of Honor to the Queen. Her name is Grace and she's 13. Both her parents have died and she was 'taken in" by the Queen. She has to choose a man (out of three the Queen has chosen) to marry when she comes of age. One is her friend, but hes old and fat. One is handsome, but rude and mean. One is young and handsome, but he is poor and doesn't talk. She chooses the last one. Why do you think it tittled 'Assaasin'? Guess, there is(are) murder(s)! And Lady Grace is the one to find the truth. I recommend this for middle school students, people who like olden timey books. ***** (5 stars) "I like to give warm hugs." (Olaf the snowman) "Some people are worth melting for.... just maybe not right now!" Olaf next to fire. Frozen is a Disney movie, it is very good for many ages and filled with wonderful music. It's very funny and silly but also a little sad... There is a royal family who never opens their gates (since the beginning) but the parents die. The one sister has a secret and never comes out of her room (Elsa), Anna is curious and full of love and happiness. But she is loney and tired of being locked in. On the day of Elsa's coranation Anna and the rest of the world finds out Elsa's secret.... I bet they wished they hadn't. It's a wonderful story full of love and mistakes and really funny stuff. I really recomend this movie to all people. I went with my older cousins and aunt, we sat next to a 3 year old... |
